PIVOTING - the shift in direction with intention
Whether in life or business - pivoting is about shifting directions with intention when something isn't working quite the way you hoped. You do it knowing that just around the corner there will be a new opportunity that presents itself. During a pivot, you ask: what do I truly want to feel, create, or contribute? That answer will become your compass. It keeps you aligned while exploring new routes.
In pivoting you will first need to recognize the need for change.
A pivot usually begins with a feeling something's off, or something greater is calling. You might notice one or more of these things:
Burnout or bordom, financial strain, shifts in the market or audience, a new passion or life event that redirects your energy. This is your que to make a change
Re-imagining Possibility
Pivoting isn't scrapping everything - it's a redirection. You keep your essence, your core strengths, and values, but re-purpose them. Time to Re-think:
In my case I added a mobile and physical boutique to my online sales.
The mobile aspect helps me to get out to a different crowd, it gives me a chance to travel - all while earning extra money.
The physical location allow sales to recurring client base, the location is open 7 days a week and will handle sales for me when I cannot be present. This opens the door to passive income.
Other Examples of Re-imagining: Shifting a personal blog into a Youtube lifestyle brand. Moving your corporate work to creative entreprenuership. There are endless opportunities - endless ways to take what you already have and build on that.
Re-imagining is Kinda like switching dance partners mid-song but keeping your rhythm.
The Courage to make the move
Finally you need to feel like you can move forward. Letting go of what is comfortable can be hard. A pivot takes bravery - especially when others may not understand your vision right away. But - remember the clarity will come with action.
